SLCFire.com is a communications system working toward realtime emergency government information during routine and disaster operations.  SLCFire communicates & produces materials through a variety of websites and web services to achieve this goal.  During a disaster, normal communications methods, such as home and cell phone service, may be disrupted. SLCFire hopes to provide information through multiple Internet communication paths to let folks know what to do and how Salt Lake City is helping during a crisis.  Residents and visitors can help ensure they receive emergency information under diverse circumstances by:

This website contains some beta or experimental features, that may not work correctly under all circumstances.  These features are intended to expand the availability of emergency services, and include:

Click to dial 911 - This only works on some mobile devices.  Developers of Voice over Internet Protocol applications are encouraged to adopt recognition of the tel:911 (or comparable) hyperlink within their software to provide 911 availability to computer operating systems.

Google Translate - Translation services are provided in every webpage within SLCFire.com.  Not every language has been tested for exact emergency translation.

As technology evolves, it is anticipated these features will work well under the majority of circumstances.
