SLC Alerts is an emergency communications system for Salt Lake City residents and businesses. It may be used to provide emergency information during hazardous situations such as large fires, chemical spills, or law enforcement events.

Salt Lake City uses publically available phone number information to send notifications. Other contact information, such as cell phone / text messaging number, email address, and voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) number is not publically available. Notifications to these types of numbers are only available to those who register their contact information on this webpage.  

After a large emergency, telephone networks may become congested, or may sustain damage.  Residents and businesses are encouraged to register multiple contact paths, (i.e. cell phone, email, VoIP), to help ensure a notification is received.
