|Date / Time||The entire month of December, 2014|
|Location||Any local fire station|
The cold weather is coming, which presents a major challenge for many people living throughout the Salt Lake Valley who do not have the proper winter clothing needed to stay warm.
Twenty-two years ago, Salt Lake City Fire Department Battalion Chief Tom Roberson helped start Operation Cover Up. The yearly collection effort encourages people to donate cold-weather items, such as blankets, coats, hats and gloves, to organizations that will distribute the items to those in need.
The organizations include The Road Home, Utah Division of Aging and Adult Services, Shriners Hospitals for Children, The Christmas Box House and St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Anyone wishing to donate new or gently-used cold-weather items can drop them off at their local fire station, from Logan to Payson and Tooele to Park City, during the month of December.
