With the arrival of summer, the time has come for the Salt Lake City Fire Department to visit Urban Interface residents door-to-door to warn the residents about wildfires.

The Ready, Set, Go! Program teaches the residents to prepare for a fire threat, have situational awareness when a fire starts in their area and to leave early when a wildfire is heading their direction.

The door-to-door visits will take place on May 18, 19 and 21.  Each of those days SLCFD firefighters will meet at Station 4 (830 E. 11^th Ave., Salt Lake City) at 2:30 p.m. to receive their routes. Then they will visit their assigned homes.

The schedule is as follows:
Friday, May 18: Capitol Hills Area, 298 homes
Saturday, May 19: Capitol Hills Area & Federal Heights, 217 homes
Monday, May 21: Federal Heights, 277 homes 

Along with speaking with the residents, firefighters will leave a bag containing literature on living in the Urban Interface. If a resident is not home, firefighters will leave the bag hanging on the door. 

Media members are welcome to accompany the firefighters during their visits.
