The Salt Lake City Fire Department provides CPR training every month. Heart attack, drowning, electric shock, and other problems may cause a person’s heart to stop pumping blood. Studies show that effective CPR RIGHT AWAY improves survival from cardiac arrest. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. You never know when you might need to use the CPR skills you learn from this course for someone you know or even one of your loved ones. With this course you will learn CPR basics from experienced fire department medical personnel. You will have a chance to practice many times including use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). At the completion of the course you will keep your student manual and you will receive a certification card good for two years. The certification is through the American Heart Association. The course is provided monthly at Salt Lake City Fire Station #1, located at 211 S 500 E. When you arrive at the station, please feel free to park in the lot on the South side of the building. The front doors are on the West side of the building on 500 East. Please call Ben Rose with any questions or if there is anything we can do to facilitate any needs you may have 801-910-6752. The fee for either course is $50.00. The Healthcare Provider course will satisfy the requirements for those who need this certification for any medical related job. The Heartsaver course will provide the general public with the hands on training and confidence your looking for in a CPR class. All classes are taught by certified full time firefighters that will personalize the training and create a comfortable learning environment. The courses last approximately 4 to 5 hours. |
